Tropicana
by dominiclove
Tropicana adds orange and pineapple foods to Minecraft, along with the tropical fruit blocks and decorations they come from, for players who want a fruit-based food chain.
What it does
Oranges and pineapples are grown and harvested in the mod, then turned into foods that keep unique effects. Several standard foods gain tropical variants, and fruit can be squeezed into juice, so cooked chicken alone is no longer the only option for a meal. Some of the foods are made with several fruits together, such as fruit salads and juices.
Tropicana is a Fabric mod with files for 1.20.1, 1.20.2, 1.20.3 and 1.20.4. It needs both the server and every player to run it, because the blocks and items must match on both sides. Patchouli is an optional dependency that adds an in-game guide to the mod's items. Builds are published under the MIT License, which is not an open source license in the strict sense, and the latest file is 0.0.3-1.20.X for 1.20.4, released on 2023-12-11 on the alpha channel.

Use cases
Tropical food chains
Players who farm fruit can build a food supply around oranges and pineapples instead of meat alone.
Island and beach builds
The decorative blocks suit beach houses and island bases, where fruit trees fit the setting.
Who it’s for: Players who want more food variety in survival worlds, and server owners who run a food-focused Fabric server and want every player to have the same content.
How it compares
Fruit of Thieves is a Fabric mod for 1.20 – 1.20.6 that is client and server, with all rights reserved and no open source license. Fruit Trees is a Fabric and Forge mod for 1.20.1, also client and server, under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0, which is not open source. Tropicana runs on Fabric only, under the MIT License, so Forge players and players on newer versions will need one of the alternatives instead.
