TreeCap
by Wadrix
TreeCap lets a player fell a whole tree by breaking a single log with an axe, and the mod is installed on the server alone.
What it does
Breaking one log of a tree with an axe makes the rest of the tree chop down automatically, so a player does not have to break each log by hand. The effect is limited to axes, so other tools keep their normal behavior. Holding Shift while breaking a log makes it about five times harder to break, which lets a player avoid triggering the chain.
Each log that breaks costs axe durability, so felling a large tree wears the tool down faster than a small one. The mod is described as simple and server-friendly, and it adds no change to how other blocks behave.
Only the server needs TreeCap, and the mod works in multiplayer without requiring clients to install it. It is published for Forge and NeoForge for Minecraft 1.21.1 – 1.21.11, and it is released under the MIT License. It is not open source.
Key features
Whole-tree felling
Breaking a single log with an axe chops down the entire tree in one action.
Axe-only trigger
The automatic cutting works only when the player uses an axe, keeping other tools unchanged.
Shift to avoid felling
Holding Shift while breaking a log makes the block about five times harder to break, so a player can break one log without the rest coming down.
Durability cost per log
Every log that breaks uses axe durability, so large trees damage the tool more than small ones.

Use cases
Survival wood gathering
A player collecting wood in survival can clear a tree quickly while the axe's durability limits how much felling a single tool allows.
Multiplayer servers
Server owners can add the mod without asking players to install anything on their clients.
Who it’s for: Players who want faster tree cutting in survival and server owners who want a tree-felling option that does not need a client-side install.
How it compares
HT's TreeChop is an open-source mod under the MIT License, published for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge across 1.12.2 – 1.21.1, and it runs on client and server. Chop Them Trees! is released under All rights reserved, targets NeoForge for 1.21.1 – 1.21.8, and is server-side only, so players can join without installing it. TreeCap is server-side only too but covers 1.21.1 – 1.21.11 on Forge and NeoForge.
