Traveler's Wits
by Whity
Traveler's Wits adds enchantments, drop changes and combat effects to the Adventure category, with Fabric and Forge builds for 1.21.
What it does
Traveler's Wits changes how weapons, armor and tools behave in combat and during use. Chestplates grant Speed III for three seconds after a hit, and shields grant Strength II for two seconds when they block an attack. Several enchantments reshape gear: Axe adds damage and armor penetration, Hoe adds extra damage, and Bow gives a chance that an arrow is not consumed. Curses change armor, so Weighting slows a wearer and increases fall damage while Infestation and Withering apply effects on hit.
The mod also ships a datapack that adds more enchantments, wandering trader maps, bat drops and other additions to the vanilla world. A server owner who wants the changes in every world can add the datapack, while the Fabric and Forge builds carry the enchantments and combat rules themselves. Unbreaking is replaced on golden tools and armor, and those items cannot take Mending. Only the server needs the mod to be installed for the rules to apply, and players may leave it out. Files exist for 1.21 only, and the mod is released under the MIT License without being open source.
