The Copper Beacon
by korjeek
The Copper Beacon adds copper variants of the beacon block, so a copper beacon can be activated and its screen can be used like the base beacon's.
What it does
Copper beacons use the same activation rules as the base beacon, but are built from copper blocks, which share the copper oxidation stages: copper, exposed, weathered and oxidized copper, along with cut copper in each stage. Players craft a copper beacon from these blocks and place it to start an effect area, while the beacon's updated interface lets them choose effects in the same way as with the original block.
The mod is a Fabric addition for the 1.21 release, and the server and every player need it because the beacon behavior runs on both sides. The code is licensed under the MIT License and is open source, and the source code and issue tracker are public. Its last update, like its first publication, is dated 2024-07-09, the same day as its only Fabric file.
Key features
Copper beacon block
A beacon built from copper that can be activated and that opens the beacon screen when used.

Updated beacon interface
The beacon screen is revised for the copper variant so effects are chosen the same way as on the base beacon.

Use cases
Decorative beacon builds
Copper blocks in several oxidation stages let a beacon fit into a build that already uses weathered or cut copper.
Survival progression
Copper is obtained early in survival, so a copper beacon can be reached before iron or diamond based beacon materials.
Who it’s for: Players on Fabric 1.21 who want a beacon that matches copper builds, and server owners who want copper beacons on a multiplayer world.
How it compares
Copper Beacons is an MIT licensed open source mod for Fabric, Forge and Quilt, published for 1.19 – 1.19.3 and needing a server install while clients may leave it out. Better Beacon Range is server-side only, uses the GNU General Public License v3.0 only, and covers 1.21.4 – 1.21.11. AutoOxidize is client-side only under the MIT License and targets 1.21 – 1.21.5, so it works on its own without a server change.

What the author says
This mod adds the ability to create and activate beacons from all copper variants, and also added an updated gui for the beacon! This is due to the fact that, in their essence, the remaining blocks are more decorative and do not look like a base for a beacon. However, if you want to challenge this, be sure to write…
