TFC Woodworking
by uTa4u
TFC Woodworking changes how wood is handled in TerraFirmaCraft worlds, with stripping, chopping and crafting that happen in the world itself.
What it does
Logs and wood are processed where they stand. A stripped log is needed first, and stripping works only when the block has empty solid sides on four faces. Chopping a log works only when the block above is empty. Wooden items are crafted from bark, bast and stripped logs, with a fair recipe of 2 bark and 1 log for a bark-based item and 1 wood for 2 bast plus 1 stripped log.
The mod adds a custom storage pile that accepts whole logs and several cut forms of them. A chopped log thrown as a projectile strikes a pile and is inserted into it instead of dropping on the ground. Tags for logs, half logs and quarter logs decide which items a pile accepts, so pack makers can change the contents. It requires TerraFirmaCraft, and it runs on client and server, so the server and every player need it. Files are published for Forge and NeoForge, with builds for 1.20.1 – 1.21.1 under the MIT License.
Key features
In-world wood crafting
Wooden items are made by working logs in the world, which makes the process feel tied to the surroundings.
Stripping and chopping rules
Stripping needs four open solid sides and chopping needs an empty block above, so placement matters.
Custom log pile
A log pile stores logs, debarked logs and debarked halves and pieces, and accepts projectiles from chopped logs.
Tool damage by tier
Tools take damage when used on wood, with a chance that depends on the tool's tier.
Configurable item tags
Tags for logs and their halves and quarters control which items a log pile takes, so the list can be changed.
