Tenite's anchor optimizer
by tenite
Tenite's anchor optimizer changes how a charged respawn anchor explodes, so the client shows the result before the server confirms it.
What it does
Once a player uses a charged anchor, the mod works out which blocks the blast would destroy. Those blocks are hidden on the client and a placeholder stands in for each, while a packet asks the server to run the blast. When the server returns its updated world, the mod restores the real blocks so the client matches again. The explosion appears without waiting for that reply.
The author says the aim is to imitate how players with higher latency behave, which may keep some anticheats from flagging quicker responses. It is a Fabric mod for 1.21 – 26.3 with 17 release versions. It works on either side, and neither needs it. The author took inspiration from Hero's anchor optimizer but describes the code as completely different, since Hero's optimizer treats the anchor's own explosion as a single event.
Key features
Predicted explosion
The client calculates which blocks a respawn anchor explosion would destroy before the server responds.
Placeholder blocks
Predicted blocks are hidden on the client and replaced with a placeholder block until the server confirms the result.
Block restoration
After the server's world update arrives, the real blocks are restored on the client to match the server.
Invisible placeholder pack
The author suggests a resource pack that turns the placeholder into invisible poppies or pink tulips, for a cleaner look.

What the author says
When a player right-clicks a charged respawn anchor, the mod predicts which blocks will be destroyed. The predicted blocks are immediately replaced on the client with a placeholder block. The client simultaneously sends a packet to the server to perform the explosion. Once the server confirms the explosion and…
