SurvivalLock
by Multiverse
SurvivalLock keeps players in survival mode by blocking changes to creative, adventure and spectator, and it works in both single-player and multiplayer worlds.
What it does
When a player tries to switch to a gamemode other than survival, SurvivalLock stops the change and returns the player to survival. It applies to switches made through the game's own controls and commands, so a world can be held in survival without relying on rules set by hand. The mod works in single-player worlds as well as on multiplayer servers.
The mod is built to add little load to the game, and installation needs only the file for the loader in use. It is published for Forge and NeoForge across 12 release versions, 1.18.2 – 1.21.5, and it is an optional addition that can run on a client alone, a server alone or both. The code is not open source: it is released under the Creative Commons Attribution Non Commercial No Derivatives 4.0 license, which limits commercial use and redistribution of modified copies.
Key features
Gamemode lock
Switches to creative, adventure or spectator are blocked, so a player stays in survival.
Automatic return to survival
When a switch attempt is caught, the player is moved back to survival mode without manual setup.
Single-player and multiplayer
The lock applies in local worlds and on servers, which suits survival-only play in either setting.
Low overhead
The mod adds little system load, and its setup is kept to a short configuration file.

Use cases
Survival-only worlds
Players who want an unmodified survival experience can keep their world in survival without checking the mode each session.
Survival servers
Server owners who run survival-only communities can apply the lock on the server side, so players cannot leave survival mid-game.
Who it’s for: Players who prefer survival-only play and server owners who run survival communities and want the gamemode fixed in place.
