Stop Unloading My Resourcepacks [SUMR]
Stop Unloading My Resourcepacks keeps resource packs enabled when a shader error occurs, so the game does not disable them.
What it does
When a shader fails to compile or link, vanilla Minecraft forcibly turns off the resource packs that contain it. This client-side mod prevents that disabling and falls back to the built-in shaders instead. Shader errors such as compilation failures, missing shader programs, linking errors and invalid or missing post effect files are shown in the game, in the chat box, or in the output log, depending on the configured option. Fabric API is required, and Mod Menu is optional for its settings screen.
Shader-related errors are reported more usefully. An example is importing a non-existent include, which now produces a proper error message instead of a pointer exception. Modded shaders that cannot load use a dummy shader, which makes the affected objects invisible. The mod also works on the title screen and in worlds, and an option turns off shader linker info logs. The package is published for Fabric and NeoForge across 11 release versions, 1.21.6 – 26.3, and snapshot builds are published as well.
Key features
Prevented resource pack disabling
Resource packs with failing shaders stay enabled instead of being turned off by the game.
Hot-reload key
Pressing F3 and R reloads the resources while the game runs, so shader changes can be tested quickly.
Configurable error display
Shader errors appear in-game, in the chat box at the top left, in both places, or only in the output log.
Built-in shader fallback
When a modded shader cannot load, the game uses Minecraft's built-in shaders and reports the failure.
