Soul Fire'd
by Crystal Nest
Soul Fire'd changes how Soul Fire behaves in Minecraft, so the blocks and flames keep their distinct look and also act differently from regular fire.
What it does
Soul Fire is drawn with its own visual style in vanilla, yet it deals the same damage as ordinary fire. This mod gives Soul Fire its own damage effects and consistent mechanics, so the behavior matches what the appearance suggests. Its overlay and effects are applied to entities that catch fire from Soul Fire.
The mod adds two enchantments, Soul Fire Aspect and Soul Flame, which let weapons and tools use Soul Fire during combat. Datapack integration is documented in a wiki, so pack makers can adjust the damage and mechanics without editing code. Soul Fire'd is published for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge, with files covering 1.16.5 – 26.2 across 22 release versions.
Soul Fire'd requires Cobweb, Fabric API, Forge Config API Port and Prometheus. The server and every player need the mod installed. The source code, issue tracker and wiki are public, and the license is a custom license, which means the project is not open source.
Key features
Soul Fire overlay
Entities on fire from Soul Fire show a dedicated overlay on screen, distinct from the regular fire overlay.
Consistent Soul Fire damage
Soul Fire deals its own damage values with special effects, rather than matching ordinary fire.
Consistent Soul Fire mechanics
Soul Fire follows the same rules across blocks, entities and items, so its behavior stays predictable.
Soul Fire enchantments
Soul Fire Aspect and Soul Flame add Soul Fire effects to weapons and tools through enchantments.
