SomeInventory

by bhargav28377

SomeInventory lets players keep armor, food and tools after death, through a keep-inventory game rule set when a world is created.

What it does

SomeInventory adds a keep-some-inventory game rule to the world creation screen, so a player can keep essential items on death instead of losing everything. The rule is off by default and can be switched on when a world is created, or changed later with the game rule command. Cheat commands remain available, and the mod does not change the rest of the vanilla gameplay.

The mod is aimed at survival players and server owners who want a middle ground between full item loss and a complete keep-inventory setting. Which items are kept is set through the game rule, so server owners can decide how much a player retains. The mod requires Fabric API and runs on the server alone, so players join without installing anything.

SomeInventory is published for Fabric and Quilt across four game versions, 26.1 – 26.2, with 1.2.0 for 26.2 as the latest Fabric file and 1.0.0 for 26.1.2 as the latest Quilt file. The code is not open source, and the mod is released under All rights reserved.

Key features

  1. Keep-some-inventory game rule

A new game rule keeps armor, food and tools after death, set on the world creation screen or later with a command.

  2. Game rule command control

The rule can be turned on or off with the game rule command, so the setting can change after the world is created.

  3. Quality-of-life additions

Beyond the death rule, the mod includes smaller utility features that adjust how inventories behave in play.

Questions

Does SomeInventory need Fabric API?

Yes. Fabric API is a required dependency, and it must be installed alongside SomeInventory on Fabric.

Does every player need the mod installed?

No. Server owners install it, and players connect with no copy of their own.

Can the keep-inventory rule be changed after a world is made?

Yes. The game rule can be turned on or off with the game rule command, so the setting does not have to be fixed at world creation.

Which versions does SomeInventory support?

What the author says

Some Inventory adds a new gamerule, keep_some_inventory, to Minecraft's vanilla world creation screen, allowing players to keep essential items after death instead of losing everything. The gamerule is disabled by default (false), but it can be enabled when creating a world or changed at any time using the /gamerule…
