Smelt Raw Block
by un_pogaz
Smelt Raw Block lets a furnace turn raw ore blocks straight into full metal blocks, skipping the separate ingot step.
What it does
Raw ore blocks normally produce ingots when smelted, one raw block giving nine ingots. This mod adds recipes so the raw block itself is smelted into a full block of metal, using the same smelting time and giving the same experience as the ingot recipe. Nine raw items compose one raw block, and smelting one raw block yields nine ingots, so the conversion is the reverse of the usual craft.
The change suits players who want to convert their stock of ore into blocks without handling individual ingots. Furnace and Blast Furnace are both supported for iron, gold and copper. The mod is server required and client optional, so a server owner installs it and players may join without it. Files are published for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, covering game versions 26.1 – 26.3 under the MIT License, and the project is not open source.
Key features
Direct block smelting
Raw iron, gold and copper blocks can be placed in a furnace and smelted into full metal blocks.
Matching time and experience
The block recipe uses the same smelting time and gives the same experience as the ingot recipe.
Furnace and Blast Furnace
Both a furnace and a blast furnace accept the raw block recipes, so either can be used for the conversion.
Reversible conversion
Nine ingots from a raw block are still available, so the block and ingot outputs stay in balance.

Use cases
Clearing a large ore stock
After mining, players can smelt raw blocks in bulk and store the results as compact metal blocks.
Reducing ingot handling
Players who dislike collecting nine separate ingots per block can convert the whole block in one smelt.
Who it’s for: Server owners and players who want raw ore blocks to smelt directly into full metal blocks in a furnace or blast furnace.

What the author says
Allow to smelt Raw Block directly into their ingots (and not into full block!). The smelting process of a Raw Block take the same time and give the same experience que si vous avez smelt each of the 9 raw items that compose the block. And of course, the smelt of 1 Raw Block give 9 ingots. Furnace and Blast Furnace…
