Smart Tree Feller lets a player cut down a whole tree by breaking its bottom log with an axe, a Fabric mod for 1.21.4.

What it does

Breaking the lowest log of a tree with an axe fells the whole tree in one action. Detection is limited to axes, so breaking the same log with another tool leaves the tree standing. The mod also tries to tell natural trees apart from structures built by a player, so blocks placed by hand are not removed along with the trunk.

The mod is client-side only, so the server and other players do not need it, and it works on vanilla servers. It is released under the MIT License, but the project is not open source. Installation requires Fabric Loader and Fabric API, and the only published file targets Minecraft 1.21.4, with 1.0.0 dated 2026-03-10 as the latest release.
