Simple Weapons, a Forge mod for 1.20.1, adds two new melee weapons, a pilum and a gladius, to the game.

What it does

Two new weapons join the game: a gladius, a fast sword, and a pilum that can be thrown with a right click, and the author plans to add more later. Crafting follows a tier ladder from Iron through Gold and Diamond up to Netherite, with the highest tier giving the strongest melee attack damage and attack speed. The mod is made with MCreator and runs on the client and server together, so both sides need it. Files are published for Forge for 1.20.1 only, and the mod is released under All rights reserved, so it is not open source.

    A fast sword and a throwing spear; a right click throws the pilum, which lands and breaks like a real projectile.
