Simple Hydration
by Boid
With Simple Hydration, a thirst bar appears on the HUD and players must drink to keep it filled, with server owners choosing the rules.
What it does
Simple Hydration adds a basic thirst bar to the heads-up display. Jumping, sprinting, swimming and walking lower the hydration level by different amounts, and eating food also affects it. Stews, fruits and drinking water refill the bar. The bar drops at different speeds depending on the biome, falling faster in warm biomes such as the Nether and more slowly in cooler ones.
The mod runs on the server, and only the server needs it installed for the rules to apply; players can join with the mod left out, although they will not see the thirst bar without the resource pack. A data pack and a resource pack deliver the logic and the bar graphics, so the resource pack must be enabled for the hydration level to show. Simple Hydration is published for Fabric, Forge and Quilt, and the latest file for each loader is 1.0 for 1.20.2 from 2023-09-26.
Simple Hydration is not open source and is released under All rights reserved. The mod was first published on 2023-07-23 by Boid, and its last update came on 2023-09-26. Its primary category is Food, with Game mechanics as a secondary category.

What the author says
This datapack adds hydration into the game in the form of a very simple thirst bar. Jumping, sprinting, swimming and walking all use decrease your hydration (by different amounts) while eating foods such as stews and fruits, or drinking water will fill it up.
