Simple Config API is a library for mod authors that saves integer, double, string and boolean values, grouped into categories with comments and defined ranges.
What it does
Mod authors use the library to store configuration values in categories, attach comments to categories and values, and limit numbers to a defined range. Invalid or corrupt config entries are corrected automatically when the file is read, so a damaged file does not stop the mod from loading. The API also supports more data types than the standard options, so a config can hold richer settings.
The library is built for multi-loader projects, so one codebase can target several loaders instead of a separate project for each. Files are published for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, and the environment is client and server, so the server and every player need it when a mod that depends on it is installed. Builds cover 1.20 – 1.20.4 on 5 release versions, and the latest file is 0.3.2 for 1.20.4, released on 2024-02-15.
The project is discontinued, and the last update is dated 2024-02-15. Simple Config API is released under the MIT License and is not open source.
