CoreConfig
by Pryzmm
CoreConfig is a configuration library that lets developers and users edit mod settings through a single menu, with support for strings, integers, floats, doubles, colors and booleans.
What it does
Mod authors can declare their settings with CoreConfig and get an interface that players can open and change without editing files by hand. The library covers the common value types, including strings, integers, floats, doubles, colors and booleans, and it can check values against validation rules before they are applied. Settings can be grouped with sorting option dividers so long option lists stay readable.
Players can use CoreConfig to modify the settings of supported mods from one menu instead of opening a separate config screen for each. Custom buttons can run a Runnable when pressed, which lets an author attach an action to a setting. The mod is published for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge, and its files cover 1.20 – 26.1.2. Being a library, it is useful only when another installed mod depends on it or is set up to use it.
The environment allows either side to run it: a player can install CoreConfig alone, a server can run it alone, or both can have it, and neither side needs it. Its latest files, 1.0.0 for 26.1.2, were published on 2026-04-24 for each loader. The code is not open source; it is released under All rights reserved, and public links exist for the source code, issue tracker and wiki.
Key features
Typed option values
Settings can hold strings, integers, floats, doubles, colors and booleans, each with its own editor in the menu.
Configuration validation
Values can be checked against rules before they take effect, so an invalid entry is rejected rather than applied.
Custom buttons
A button in the settings screen can run a Runnable, letting an author attach an action to a configuration item.
Sorting option dividers
Dividers group related options inside a long settings list, which keeps large configurations easier to scan.

How it compares
Configuration is a Fabric, Forge and NeoForge library under the MIT License, open source, with files for 1.16.5 – 26.3, and it runs on client and server. ConfigAPI is also a Fabric, Forge and NeoForge library, published for 1.16 – 26.2 under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license and not open source. UI Lib is open source under the Apache License 2.0 for 1.20.1 – 26.3, but it is client-side only, so a server does not need it.
