Sheikah Font

by Lykrast

Sheikah Font adds a Legend of Zelda style alphabet for Forge and NeoForge, and the font is applied to text through commands and item names.

ForgeNeoForgeClient and serverAll rights reserved1.20.1

What it does

The font draws its letters and numerals from the Sheikah script of the Breath of the Wild games, and it also includes banner patterns based on the same script. The 26 Latin letters are shown in both upper and lower case with the same glyph, and the 10 Arabic numerals from 0 to 9 are included, along with a dash, a dot, an exclamation mark and a question mark.

Text is written in the font with a JSON text component that uses the id sheikahfont:sheikah, which works in tellraw and title commands and in custom item names. The author notes a bookshelf-style command for quick use. Darkhax's earlier font mods, Unown Font among them, served as the model for the Sheikah lettering.

Installation runs with Forge or NeoForge for Minecraft 1.20.1 only, and the environment is client and server, so the server and every player need the mod. Files for both loaders were first published on 2025-07-13, and the code is held under All rights reserved, so the mod is not open source. Public links exist for the source code and the issue tracker.

Key features

  1. Sheikah letters and numerals

The alphabet covers the Latin letters, the digits from 0 to 9 and the basic punctuation marks needed for short messages.

  2. Banner patterns in the script

Banner patterns use the Sheikah script, so decorative banners can carry the same lettering as the rest of the font.

  3. Font through JSON text

Any JSON text component can select the font with its id, which lets commands and custom names display the lettering.

  4. Command-based use

Text can be sent with tellraw and title commands, so the font works in map text and server messages without extra tools.

Sheikah Font has a fixed theme and runs on Forge and NeoForge alone, while these alternatives add physical letter blocks rather than a font.
