SharedWorld
by Bolido
SharedWorld lets a group of players share one Minecraft world through a cloud storage bucket, as a free alternative to paid server hosting.
What it does
The mod stores a shared world in an S3-compatible bucket, such as a Cloudflare R2 bucket, and players join it through the bucket instead of a hosted server. The author notes that joining and leaving is faster than on Google Drive, which was the first storage option and can be slow and fill up. Sessions on Google Drive expire often, so players must log in again. Players who want to avoid a cloud provider can self-host instead, and offline players are supported.
The world is tied to Minecraft UUIDs for safety, so a player's account can only join the Shared Worlds they belong to. Creating a Shared World means choosing the S3 bucket option and entering the bucket details. The author recommends Cloudflare R2, which offers 10GB free, and charges 0.015 per GB per month above that, though a credit card is asked for even on the free plan.
SharedWorld requires Fabric API and e4mc. It is client-side only, so players install it and the server needs nothing. It is published for Fabric and NeoForge across 14 release versions, 1.20 – 26.2, and the code is open source under the MIT License.
Key features
Bucket-backed worlds
A Shared World is stored in an S3-compatible bucket that the group controls, with no paid server needed.
Storage choice
Google Drive, GitHub storage and Cloudflare R2 can be selected as the place where the world is kept.
Player membership
Shared Worlds are tied to Minecraft UUIDs, so only members can open a given world.
Offline player support
Players without a Minecraft account can still take part in a Shared World.

What the author says
All you have to do when creating a Shared World is choosing the option 'S3 bucket' instead of Google Drive and put your S3 bucket details. I personally recommend using a 'Cloudflare R2 bucket'. It has 10GB for free, it's fast, and if somehow you need more storage Cloudflare charges $0.015 per GB/month, also known as…
