Sensible Smithing Templates
Sensible Smithing Templates rebalances the recipes for several smithing template items so they rely less on Diamonds.
What it does
The mod changes the crafting recipes of a number of Smithing Templates. Several recipes that called for Diamonds now use other materials, which spreads the cost of decorating armor across more of the game's resources. Trim templates such as Rib, Spire and Tide are included in the changes, and Silence is made harder to craft.
Some block ingredients are also swapped. Nether Bricks replace Netherrack in certain recipes, and Prismarine Bricks replace Prismarine. Recipes are adjusted so their ingredients better match the look of each template. A Purpur Pillar change follows the Bedrock Edition parity. The author notes that a future release may rebalance a few recipes so that rarer ones, mostly the Netherite Upgrade, come from scarcer materials.
The mod is published for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, and a data pack version is also available. Players may add it or leave it out, but the server must run it. The code is open source under the MIT License, and files cover 1.20 – 26.3.
