Selective Disenchanter

by ItzChoko

Selective Disenchanter changes the grindstone so that one chosen enchantment can be removed from an item while the rest stay on it.

FabricNeoForgeServer-side onlyMIT License1.21.11 – 26.2

What it does

In the grindstone, an enchanted item goes in the top slot and an enchanted book carrying the target enchantment goes in the bottom slot. The grindstone then strips only the enchantment that the book carries, and the item comes back with every other enchantment intact. Items such as books, tools, armor and weapons all work this way.

Vanilla grindstones remove every enchantment from an item at once, which forces players to choose between keeping a set of enchantments and losing them all. The mod replaces that behavior with targeted removal, so a player can drop one unwanted enchantment and keep the rest. It is server-side only, so players join a server running it without installing anything. Selective Disenchanter is published for Fabric and NeoForge, with files for 26.2 and builds covering 1.21.11 – 26.2, and it is released under the MIT License, not open source.

Key features

  1. Single-enchantment removal

The grindstone takes one enchantment off an item and leaves every other enchantment on it in place.

  2. Book-guided selection

The enchanted book placed in the bottom slot determines which enchantment is removed from the item.

  3. Support for common gear

Enchanted books, tools, armor and weapons can all be processed through the grindstone.

  4. Vanilla behavior replaced

The grindstone's default full-removal behavior is changed so targeted removal is the result instead.
