Seafoam's Dyeable Blocks

by SeafoamWolf

Seafoam's Dyeable Blocks lets players dye many decorative blocks in any full color, using a Paintbrush and a Color Essence crafted from dyes and iron.

FabricForgeClient and serverMIT LicenseOpen source1.18.2 – 1.20.1

What it does

Blocks that accept dye can be recolored with any color value, not only the sixteen vanilla dye colors, which suits pixel art and detailed decoration work. The mod adds Dyed Stripped Log, Dyed Stripped Wood and a Dye Sponge as new blocks, and the Color Essence is crafted from red, green and blue dye with an iron ingot. A Paintbrush stacks a stick, Color Essence and a feather at a crafting table, and it applies a chosen dye to any supported block, much like leather armor takes dye.

The mod runs on the Fabric and Forge loaders and requires Fabric API on Fabric. It is client and server, so both the server and every player need it. Files cover 1.18.2, 1.19.2, 1.19.4 and 1.20.1, with 1.4.2 for 1.20.1 as the latest release, and the code is released under the MIT License, so it is open source. A Biomes O Plenty compatibility add-on also requires this mod.

Key features

  1. Full color dyeing

Supported blocks can take any color value, giving finer control than the standard sixteen dye colors.

  2. Color Essence crafting

A Color Essence is made from red, green and blue dye with an iron ingot, and it feeds the Paintbrush recipe.

  3. Dyed stripped wood

Dyed Stripped Log and Dyed Stripped Wood join the new blocks, with a Dye Sponge for color work.

  4. Paintbrush application

The Paintbrush applies a chosen color to supported blocks, so a single tool recolors whole builds.
