Scroll Tweaks

by Microcontrollers

Scroll Tweaks changes how the hotbar responds to the mouse wheel, with options to disable scrolling, reverse its direction or stop it from wrapping between the first and ninth slot.

FabricNeoForgeOrnitheClient-side onlyGNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 onlyOpen source1.8.9 – 26.3

What it does

The mod gives players control over hotbar scrolling in the client. A disable option turns off wheel scrolling on the hotbar entirely, a reverse option flips the direction, and a prevent-overflow option stops the selection from jumping directly between the first and ninth slot when it reaches an edge.

Only the client needs Scroll Tweaks; a server running it or not makes no difference to players. Required dependencies are Fabric API, Mod Menu, OneConfig and YetAnotherConfigLib (YACL), and the settings are reached through the mod menu. The mod is released under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only and is open source, with public links to its source code and issue tracker. Files target Fabric, NeoForge and Ornithe across 22 release versions, 1.8.9 – 26.3.

Key features

  1. Disable hotbar scrolling

Turns off mouse wheel selection on the hotbar while leaving other scroll behavior untouched.

  2. Reverse scroll direction

Flips the wheel direction used to move through hotbar slots, for players who prefer the opposite motion.

  3. Prevent overflow scrolling

Stops the selection from wrapping directly between the first and ninth slot when scrolling past an edge.

  4. Customizable settings

Each behavior is a separate option that can be toggled on or off in the settings screen.
