Ripples of the Past: Recording

by BabelMoth

Recording, an addon for Ripples of the Past, brings its own original stand to the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure based mod on Forge 1.16.5.

ForgeClient and serverGNU General Public License v3.0 onlyOpen source1.16.5

What it does

The stand works through moths. Dust-formed moths chew on attached entities, and the damage grows with the number of moths latched onto a target. A swarm surge can be aimed at a target so the moths envelop it automatically, and the swarm can also be used to retrieve items.

Several abilities draw on stored energy: a single moth can be launched as a high-speed projectile that shatters blocks and deals heavy piercing damage, while a full barrage sends the whole swarm at a target. Fossilized moths can orbit the user to form a kinetic-absorption field, and a moth recall pulls the furthest moth back. Other abilities trigger explosions from moths carrying kinetic energy or highlight moving entities nearby through the moths' sensitivity to motion.

The mod is client and server, so the server and every player need it. It is published for Forge only, for 1.16.5, and the code is under the GNU General Public License v3.0 only, so the source is open. Ripples of the Past itself is required to run it.

Key features

  1. Moth latching damage

Moths latch onto a target and chew it, and each additional moth increases the damage dealt.

  2. Kinetic Piercing

A single moth is fired as a fast projectile that breaks blocks and deals piercing damage.

  3. Swarm shield

Fossilized moths orbit the user and absorb incoming kinetic impact.

  4. Kinetic Sensing

Moths react to motion, so the stand can highlight moving entities in the surrounding area.
