Ribbits: Croaks
by Jonahanoj
Ribbits: Croaks extends the Ribbits mod with rival frogs, evil Croak variants that raid Ribbit villages, and a Ribbot Crate that summons a new defender mob.
What it does
The Croaks are rival frogs that attack Ribbit villages. Their evil variants can be fought by players who defend the villages, and a Ribbot Crate, crafted from the mod's items, summons a Ribbot that helps the Ribbits in a fight. Drinking a Boggy Bane flask near a Ribbit village starts a Croak Raid, and a Song Ribbits music disc plays the Ribbit's jam whenever it is played.
The mod also adds a set of new blocks, including Polished Brick, Amethyst and Rotten Wood variants, for building. Swamps are the most tricky biome to cross, since it is simple to lose one or two Croaks there. Crafting an Amethyst Bell makes nearby Croaks glow, which the author recommends for finding them. Animations for the new mobs use Geckolib through Nerdy's Geckolib Plugin.
Installation needs Geckolib, Ribbits and YUNG's API. The mod runs on Forge and NeoForge for 1.20.1 and 1.21.1, and the environment is client and server, so the server and every player need it. It is released under the MIT License and is not open source. The latest NeoForge file is 2.0.0 for 1.21.1, and the latest Forge file is 1.9.6 for 1.20.1, marked alpha.

How it compares
Golem Overhaul is a Fabric, Forge and NeoForge mod for 1.20.1 – 1.21.1, with the same client and server environment, and it is not open source. Creatures and Beasts is a Forge-only mod for 1.18.2 – 1.19.2, with the same environment, and it is open source under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 or later. Both differ from this mod in their focus on creatures rather than Croak raids.
