ReviveGraves

by programmieRIN

When a player dies on a ReviveGraves server, the body is left behind as a gravestone that another player can revive, instead of the dead player spectating.

FabricClient and serverMIT LicenseOpen source1.21.1 – 26.1.2

What it does

ReviveGraves adds cooperative rescue mechanics to a Fabric server: a player who dies does not spectate the game but leaves a gravestone, and teammates can bring them back with a revive token. Players who stay dead can become a ghost chicken, which carries the mod's ghost mechanics and a separate mode.

The mod is configured on the server side, and changes to its settings require a server restart. It also includes custom advancements and an integration for loot. Fabric API is required, and the mod is open source under the MIT License, with its source code public.

Client and server: the server and every player need the mod. Files are published for Fabric only, and the latest build is 1.7.1 for 26.1.2, released on 2026-06-14. Builds exist for 1.21.1, 1.21.5, 1.21.6, 1.21.9 and 26.1.2.

Key features

  1. Gravestones on death

A player who dies leaves a gravestone at the location of death, which other players can reach and open.

  2. Revive tokens

A revive token brings a dead player back, so rescue depends on teammates reaching the gravestone in time.

  3. Ghost chicken mode

A dead player can take the form of a ghost chicken, a separate mode with its own movement and limits.

  4. Server-side configuration

Rules for gravestones, tokens and the ghost mode are set in a server config file, with changes applied after a restart.

Use cases

Cooperative survival servers

Groups that play together can rescue fallen members instead of losing them to a single death.

Who it’s for: Server owners who run survival or hardcore worlds with several players, and groups that want death to involve teammates instead of spectating.

How it compares

Full comparison

DeathPing is a Fabric client-side only mod under the MIT License, for 1.21, so only players install it. Life Link is server-side only under the MIT License, for 1.21.5, so players join without installing it. ReviveGraves differs by requiring both sides and by adding gravestones and revive tokens; it is open source under the MIT License and builds cover 1.21.1 – 26.1.2.

Questions

Does ReviveGraves need Fabric API?

Yes. Fabric API is a required dependency and must be installed next to ReviveGraves on Fabric.

Do players need the mod to join a server running it?

Yes. A server running it needs every connecting player to have it too.

Why does a config change need a restart?

The mod's settings are read by the server at startup, so changes to them require a server restart to take effect.
