DeathPing
by Itzhep
DeathPing is a Fabric client-side mod that sends a player's coordinates to chat when they leave a server, so friends can locate them after a death or other critical moment.
What it does
When a player dies or otherwise needs to be found, DeathPing posts their position in chat automatically. The message includes x, y and z coordinates, the player's name and the dimension they are in. The text follows a template the player can change, using placeholders for these values and for the death event itself. The mod runs on the client alone, so it works on servers that have not installed it, and only the player who installed it sends the message.
The mod is built for Minecraft 1.21 on the Fabric loader and needs Fabric API installed alongside it. A configuration screen is available through Mod Menu, which is optional, and without it the same settings can still be edited directly. DeathPing is released under the MIT License and is open source, with its source code and issue tracker publicly available.
Key features
Automatic coordinate messages
Coordinates are sent to chat without any command, when a death or a leave event happens.
Custom message formats
The message template accepts placeholders for x, y, z, player name, dimension and death, so the text can match a group's style.
Configuration screen
Settings open in a screen reachable from Mod Menu, which is optional, for changing the message format and behavior.
Client-side utility
The mod works from the player's own game, so friends can use it on any server without server-side installation.

Use cases
Recovering items after a death
A player who dies far from base can share the exact location with friends who are online to retrieve the dropped items.
Coordinating a group
Players exploring together can announce where they left the server, so the group can regroup or search.
Who it’s for: Players who play multiplayer with friends and want a quick way to share where someone died or went offline. It suits groups that already coordinate in chat and use the Fabric loader on Minecraft 1.21.
How it compares
Death Coordinates is a Fabric mod for 1.21 – 1.21.1 that runs server-side only and is not open source, under the CC-BY-1.0 license, so players need nothing installed. Chatcryption is a Fabric client-side mod for 1.21.11 that is open source under the GNU General Public License v3.0 only, and it encrypts chat rather than reporting coordinates.
