RetroAPI
by Slainlight
RetroAPI is a library for other mods that adds blocks, items, recipes, entities and dimensions to Minecraft Beta.
What it does
Mods built on RetroAPI register custom blocks and items with stable IDs that are assigned automatically and kept across loads. Block IDs extend well past the vanilla limit of 256, and block entities can be declared without subclassing BlockWithBlockEntity. Inventory menus for chests, furnaces and dispensers come with slot synchronization, and crafting, smelting and furnace-fuel recipes are registered through the same library.
The library also covers entities with renderers, new worlds that players enter through portal blocks, achievements with achievement pages, sound autoloading, automatic language translation generation, and an expanded texture atlas with custom block item renderers. Networking runs over OSL and maps IDs from server to client, so extended block chunks stay in sync.
The mod runs on Babric and Ornithe for the b1.7.3 game version only, and is published as a client and server mod, so both sides need it. Its Ornithe Fabric Loader support runs transparently over OSL Babric. Snapshot builds are published alongside the release files. RetroAPI is released under the MIT License and is open source; the source code and issue tracker are public. It is incompatible with Retro Sprint, RetroCommands and RetroTweaks.
Key features
Custom blocks and items
Blocks and items are registered with automatic stable ID assignment, and block IDs go well past the vanilla cap of 256.
Block entities without subclassing
A block entity can be attached through RetroBlockEntityType, so a mod does not need to subclass BlockWithBlockEntity.
Menus with slot sync
Inventory GUIs for chests, furnaces and dispensers come with automatic slot synchronization between server and client.
Recipes and smelting
Crafting, smelting and furnace-fuel recipes are registered through the RetroRecipes system.
Dimensions and entities
Entities with renderers and dimensions entered through portal blocks can be added by mods that use the library.

What the author says
