FarnUtil

by FarnGitHub

FarnUtil is a b1.7.3 library for Fabric, Babric and Ornithe that collects helper APIs the author uses in personal mods, built on top of StationAPI.

What it does

Among its API parts, the library replaces the vanilla entity data tracker's numeric 0-31 keys with string keys, gives items an action and ability system for adventure-style content, provides a basic API for adding loot and monsters to dungeons, and offers a static item renderer for items shown as entities.

Rendering support covers a custom particle system that draws transparent particles where vanilla ones look wrong, such as clouds and fog, plus a custom animation flag on entity models and a render hook for the world-last stage. Players can still join vanilla servers, because StationAPI keeps that path open. FarnUtil requires StationAPI, and Campfire-StationAPI, Farn's Name Tag, Foodies, Adventures Updates's Bow (StationAPI) and HoneyBees all depend on it. The mod is released under the MIT License as open source and is published for b1.7.3 only, with snapshot builds published alongside.

Key features

  1. String-keyed data tracker

Entities store synced values under string keys instead of the fixed 0-31 slots that vanilla uses.

  2. Item actions and abilities

Items can carry actions and abilities for adventure-style content, with several extra helpers around them.

  3. Transparent particle rendering

A custom particle system draws transparent effects such as clouds and fog, which vanilla particles render poorly.

  4. Dungeon loot and monster API

Hooks let other content add loot and monsters to dungeon generation.
