Mod Remapping API
Mod Remapping API lets non-Fabric mods run on Fabric by translating their class and method names at runtime, with hooks that other mods can use to extend the process.
What it does
Mods written for another loader or for a different set of mappings are translated while the game runs, so their references match the names used by the current runtime mappings. Developers can attach hooks to this remapping step to change how other mods are processed.
The library is aimed at compatibility work, such as bringing older or differently built mods into a Fabric setup. Fabricated Legacy Forge, Apron and Fabricated Rift require it. Because it does not depend on one specific Minecraft version, it works in any version that Fabric Loader can launch. Either side can run it alone or both sides together, and neither side needs it. It is released under CC0 1.0 Universal, which places the code in the public domain and is open source. Builds are published for Fabric, Quilt, Babric, Legacy Fabric and Ornithe, with the 1.30.0 file covering 1.21.11 as the latest release, and snapshot builds are published as well.
Key features
Runtime remapping
Non-Fabric mods are translated while the game runs, so they load against the mapping names in use.
Extension hooks
Other mods can attach hooks to the remapping process and adjust how mods are translated.
Bundled SpASM
The SpASM bytecode library is included in the mod, so the remapper needs no separate install for it.
Version-independent launch
The API does not tie itself to one Minecraft version, so it works wherever Fabric Loader can start the game.

Use cases
Loading older mods
Mods built for an earlier or different mapping scheme can be made to load on a Fabric setup through the remapper.
Building compatibility mods
Authors of bridge mods, such as Fabricated Legacy Forge, can use the hooks to adapt other mods instead of rewriting them.
Who it’s for: The API suits mod developers building compatibility layers and players who want older or foreign mods to run on Fabric. Server owners who run such mods can install it on the server as well, since either side can run it and neither side needs it.
