Ranking Of Things πŸ‘‘

by Gauraaaaaaaa

Ranking Of Things πŸ‘‘ gives items a rarity tier that players can see in the item name, and it can be tuned in the config file.

FabricClient-side onlyMIT LicenseOpen source1.20 – 1.21.1

What it does

Items are sorted into rarity levels. The default list places items at UNCOMMON, RARE, EPIC or LEGENDARY, while items not on the list stay at COMMON. The config file lets a server owner change the rarity of any item directly, and Mod Menu can open that configuration from the game menu. Enchanted items can be set to earn one rarity level higher, which is enabled by default.

The mod does not change the color of an item's name; the rarity label is what changes. Other installed mods can read the rarity and react to it. The author notes Item Borders and LootBeams as examples, since both can match their borders and beams to the color of an item's rarity. The mod needs Cloth Config API and Fabric API, and it is client-side only, so only the player's game needs it.

The mod is released under the MIT License, and its source code and issue tracker are public. It was first published on 2024-06-11 and last updated on 2024-12-05. Files target 1.20 – 1.21.1 across seven release versions, with the latest Fabric file, 1.0.3, built for 1.21.1.

Key features

  1. Rarity tiers

Each item can be placed in a rarity tier, and the tier decides how its name is shown to the player.

  2. Default rarity list

The default list assigns UNCOMMON, RARE, EPIC and LEGENDARY tiers to listed items, and unlisted items remain COMMON.

  3. Config file editing

Rarity values are edited directly in the config file, and Mod Menu can open the settings screen for that file.

  4. Enchantment rarity bonus

Enchanted items can be set to move up one rarity level, a setting that is turned on by default.
