QuickAlias
by Florlet
QuickAlias is a client-side utility that turns long command strings into short aliases, with nested menus, macros and variables for chat.
What it does
A player defines a root alias, such as Warp, and places sub-options beneath it, such as Home, Hub and Mining. Typing the root opens a menu of those choices, so a set of frequent commands can be reached without retyping each one. An alias can also bind several commands to one identifier, and a single trigger runs them in a fixed order.
Aliases accept dynamic arguments. A definition such as invite player takes a name when it is used, and the mod captures that input and substitutes it into the command. Placeholders resolve context automatically, including the current X, Y and Z coordinates, the player ID and the dimension ID, so a command can refer to where the player stands without the player typing those values.
QuickAlias is a client-side only mod, so only the client needs it and servers run without it. Alias suggestions appear through the standard chat suggestion system, alongside vanilla commands. It is released under the MIT License and is open source, with source code, an issue tracker and a wiki published. It is published for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, with builds covering 1.20.1 – 26.1.1 and the latest file for 26.1.1. Fabric API and Mod Menu are optional dependencies.
Key features
Nested command menus
Root aliases hold sub-options, so a menu tree can group related commands under one entry point.
Macro sequences
One alias identifier can bind several commands, which run in the order they were defined from a single trigger.
Context placeholders
Placeholders read the player's coordinates, player ID and dimension ID at the moment the alias runs.
Dynamic arguments
Aliases can take input such as a player name, which is inserted into the command when the alias is used.
Suggestions for variables
Variables named id prompt for online player names, and variables for dimensions suggest dimension IDs.
