Quest Event Bridge
by ReconHalcyon
Quest Event Bridge connects gameplay events to FTBQuests tasks by storing event data in player persistent data, so a quest can read it.
What it does
The mod captures game events and writes their results into each player's persistentData. For example, it records every onTrade event from a TradeWithVillagerEvent, counting trades per player and keeping the villager profession alongside the count. Those values stay on the player until a script or quest reads them.
Quest authors use it together with KubeJS. A KubeJS script can hook a player's persistentData, check a custom task ID, and read the data the bridge wrote, so an FTBQuests custom task such as trading ten times with a Librarian can be completed. The mod uses SubscribeEvent handlers and needs KubeJS to make use of the stored values.
Quest Event Bridge runs on NeoForge for 1.21.1 only and is published as version 1.1.1, released on 2026-01-01. It is released under All rights reserved and is not open source, though its source code and issue tracker are publicly linked.
Key features
Trade event capture
Each onTrade event is recorded with the villager profession and a running count of trades per player.
Persistent player data
Captured values are stored in persistentData, where KubeJS scripts and quests can read them later.
Custom quest tasks
Stored event data can drive FTBQuests custom tasks, such as a trade requirement with a specific profession.
KubeJS hook
A script can hook a player's persistentData and match a custom task ID to decide when the task is complete.

Use cases
Who it’s for: Modpack authors and quest designers who build FTBQuests content on NeoForge 1.21.1 and want quests tied to in-game events, with some KubeJS scripting.
How it compares
Render.js is client-side only, released under the GNU General Public License v3.0 only, and is open source, with files for Forge and NeoForge on 1.20.1. NetworkJS is server-side only, open source under the MIT License, and covers NeoForge 1.21.1 – 1.21.8. KubeJS Actually Additions is also server-side only and runs on NeoForge 1.21.1, but it is not open source and is under All rights reserved. KubeUI is open source under the MIT License, works on client and server, and covers 1.21.1 – 26.1.2. Quest Event Bridge sits between event capture and quests, which differs from these scripting and UI mods.
