Recon Silk Spawners
by ReconHalcyon
Recon Silk Spawners lets players harvest monster spawners with a Silk Touch pickaxe and place them again with their stored mob data intact.
What it does
Breaking a monster spawner with a Silk Touch pickaxe yields the spawner as an item instead of destroying it. The item keeps the full NBT data, including the mob type, spawn rules and spawn potentials, so a spawner placed later comes back with the same behavior it had when it was harvested. Optional debug logging can record each harvest and placement.
Server owners control which entities a spawner may hold through a whitelist and a blacklist, and can restrict placement to specific dimensions. Every setting lives in the reconsilkspawners-common.toml file, so no in-game menu is involved. The mod is designed for 1.21.1 and runs on NeoForge, where it is published as a single build.
Recon Silk Spawners runs on client and server, so the server and every player need it. The author has published the source code and an issue tracker, and the code is not open source, as the license is All rights reserved.
Key features
Silk Touch harvesting
A spawner broken with a Silk Touch pickaxe drops as an item instead of disappearing.
Retained spawner data
The harvested item keeps the mob type, spawn rules and spawn potentials of the original spawner.
Entity whitelist and blacklist
Server owners choose which entity types a spawner can contain, with both allow and deny lists.
Dimension placement limits
Placement of harvested spawners can be restricted to specific dimensions.
Debug logging
An optional log records harvested and placed spawners, which helps when tracking spawner use on a server.
Compatibility
Latest build for each game version and loader.
Only full game releases are shown. This mod publishes no snapshot builds.
Use cases
Who it’s for: Server owners who want to limit spawner placement, and players who want to move monster spawners between locations without losing their configured mob.
