Python MC Mod
by Antara89
Python MC is a server-side Fabric mod for Minecraft 1.21.1 that lets server owners add simple Python scripts for automation, player messages and command-driven behavior.
What it does
Scripts are written in Python, placed in a server config folder and loaded when the server starts. The mod starts a local Python 3.8+ script host by itself, and scripts react to server lifecycle ticks, player connections and other events. Changes take effect after a reload from the in-game server console, so the mod can be changed without recompiling it.
Scripts can pull in the bundled API to write to the log, announce messages to everyone, send private messages and run server commands. On first launch a starter example script is written, so owners have a working file to edit. Python must be reachable as python3 or python on the PATH, or its location must be set in an environment variable before Minecraft starts.
Installation needs Fabric API. Python MC runs on client and server, but only the server needs it for scripting; players may join without installing it unless a modpack setup requires matching mod lists. The files cover 1.21.1 only, the latest Fabric file is 1.0.0 released on 2026-05-06, and the mod is released under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license, which does not make it open source.
Key features
Python scripting for Fabric servers
Server owners write Python files that run on the server machine with the same permissions as the Minecraft server process.
Event-driven scripts
Functions in a script are called when matching server events occur, such as ticks, player joins and command execution.
Bundled API
The included API gives scripts access to logging, broadcasts, private messages and the ability to execute server commands.
Admin commands
Commands show status, reload scripts, restart, trigger custom events and run quick Python snippets, with permission level 4 required.
