Server List Password Mod

by Antara89

Server List Password Mod puts one shared password in front of a Fabric server, so players must enter it before gameplay starts.

FabricClient and serverMIT License1.21.1 – 1.21.11

What it does

Players who join a server running the mod see a login gate. Until they enter the shared password, movement, block interaction and attacks are blocked, and commands other than the login are refused. Players who have not yet logged in receive reminder messages, and a player's login state resets when they disconnect, so the next session asks again.

The mod needs Fabric API on Fabric. It is published for Fabric only, across 3 release versions: 1.21.1, 1.21.10 and 1.21.11, with 1.0.3 for 1.21.1 as the latest file from 2026-07-16. Both the server and each joining player must run it. The code is released under the MIT License and is not open source, and the first file dates from 2026-02-07.

Behavior is set in dedicated config files, where the server password is defined. A client can optionally auto-login with a password saved for each server, which the player keeps on their own machine.

Key features

  1. Shared server password

One password is set on the server, and every player must enter it to start playing.

  2. Login gate

Movement, block interaction and attacks stay blocked, and non-login commands are refused, until the player authenticates.

  3. Login reminders

Players who have not logged in receive messages reminding them to do so.

  4. Automatic reset on disconnect

The login state resets when a player disconnects, so the password is required again on the next join.

Use cases

Private servers

A small group of friends can keep a server closed with one shared password, without account systems.

Community servers

Server owners get a quick access control that does not require a full account plugin.

Who it’s for: Server owners who want a single shared password for a Fabric server, and players who join those servers and want the password saved on their client.

How it compares

Full comparison

MineAuth is server-side only, open source under the MIT License and published for 1.21.11, so it covers that single version rather than the 1.21.1 – 1.21.11 range. Server Password Mod is server-side only, not open source, and targets 1.20.1 – 1.20.2, so it does not cover the versions this mod supports. AutoLogin is client-side only and open source under the MIT License for 1.21 – 26.3, so it handles only the client-side auto-login part.

Questions

Does Server List Password Mod require Fabric API?

Yes. Fabric API is a required dependency, so it must be installed alongside the mod on the server and on each client.

Does every player need the mod installed?

Yes. Players who join a server running it need the mod too. Auto-login is optional and only applies to clients that choose to store a password.

Which game versions are supported?

Files exist for 1.21.1, 1.21.10 and 1.21.11, so the mod covers that set of releases rather than every version in between.

What the author says

A simple Fabric mod that adds one shared server password players must enter with /login before they can play the client is able to store password information. So no need for logging in all the time. You may configure the mod using the dedicated config files(like setting the server password). Keep your Fabric server…
