PYLA (Polishing Your Life Away)

by AJBruner77

PYLA lets players polish plain stone blocks with wood-tinted textures, and it adds the stone, diorite and basalt pieces that vanilla leaves out.

FabricNeoForgeClient and serverCC0 1.0 UniversalOpen source1.21.1 – 26.1.2

What it does

Polishing a stone block with oak or another wood-type material gives it a grained look. Stone, diorite and basalt each get slabs and stairs, so a basalt build no longer needs a single cube to stand alone. Basalt is improved with mangrove as well. Some stones already have polished versions in vanilla, and PYLA keeps those in place.

Polishing is handled by an Empty Polish Can, which is crafted from an iron nugget and a powder mixed with a honeycomb block. Each can holds 12 uses of a tree polish, and an empty can disappears once spent. The mod is licensed under CC0 1.0 Universal and is open source, with the source code public. Client and server both need it, and it is built for Fabric and NeoForge, with files for 1.21.1 and 26.1.2.

Key features

  1. Polished stone variants

Stone, diorite and basalt take on wood-tinted polished looks, which suits trim and floor work.

  2. Slabs and stairs

Each of the three stone types includes slabs and stairs, so the set fits common building shapes.

  3. Polish can crafting

The Empty Polish Can is made from an iron nugget and a powder mixed with a honeycomb block, then filled with tree polish.

  4. Limited polish uses

Each can holds 12 uses of tree polish before it is spent and removed from the inventory.
