Puzzle
by Motschen
Puzzle lets resourcepack creators use features that OptiFine offered, and it gives players one GUI for choosing OptiFine alternatives instead of installing and configuring several separate mods.
What it does
Many OptiFine features still have no replacement mod, so Puzzle adds some of them itself, including splash screens supplied by a resourcepack. It also gives resourcepack developers extra options such as wider rotation values and larger size limits for JSON models. Its goal is to cover the gap that single-feature alternatives leave behind.
Support is included for a set of OptiFine alternatives, which are listed in the mod's own configuration screen. Fabric, NeoForge and Quilt builds span 31 release versions, covering 1.18 – 26.3, released under the MIT License with public source code. Fabric API and MidnightLib are required on the loaders that use them, and the mod is client-side only.
Key features
Resourcepack splash screens
Splash screens defined in a resourcepack are displayed, a feature OptiFine provided before the mod existed.
Extended JSON models
Resourcepack developers can set wider rotation values and use bigger sizes for JSON models.
One configuration GUI
A single settings screen covers the supported alternatives, so players do not have to locate each one in the mod menu.
Supported alternatives
Several OptiFine alternatives are supported from one place, so they can be configured together.

What the author says
Context: For a long time, OptiFine has been a big part of Minecraft modding. For an equal amount of time, it has been causing errors with mods – its closed source nature making it especially hard to work with as a mod developer. For that reason, a lot of alternatives have been created. But usually they only replicate…
