Potentials
by Fej1Fun
Potentials gives mod developers one way to expose energy, fluid and item storage through the capability lookups of both Fabric and NeoForge at the same time.
What it does
The library lets a mod author create new capabilities or reuse the ones it already ships. The implemented set comprises energy-holding blocks and their block entities, energy-holding entities, energy-holding items, fluid storage blocks with block entities, fluid-holding entities and fluid storage items. A mod built on these lookups can then be read by other mods through a single API, whichever loader they run on.
Potentials requires Architectury API and Fabric API, and it is listed for Fabric and NeoForge. Installation covers the server and each player's game. The code is under the MIT License and is open source, with the source code and issue tracker linked from the project page. Files cover 1.21 – 26.3 across 15 release versions, and the latest Fabric and NeoForge builds are 0.11.1 for 26.1.2, a beta release from 2026-10-11.
Key features
Energy blocks and entities
Block entities and entities that store energy can be exposed through the shared lookup, so other mods can find and fill them.
Energy items
Items that hold energy are registered as capabilities, allowing other mods to charge and drain them.
Fluid storage
Fluid storage blocks, block entities and items can each provide a fluid capability that other mods read.
Custom capabilities
Authors can define their own capability types next to the built-in energy and fluid ones.
Compatibility
Latest build for each game version and loader.

Use cases
Who it’s for: Mod developers who want their energy, fluid or item storage to be reachable from other mods on both Fabric and NeoForge. Players and server owners only need the library when a mod that depends on it is installed.
