FluidLib
by Infinities
FluidLib is a Fabric library that gives other mods a shared way to define custom fluids and their behavior in the world.
What it does
The library provides a basic fluid class that takes care of much of the common fluid plumbing, so a mod author can focus on the logic that makes a fluid different. Custom fluid logic can be placed in a single spot, and tags control several behaviors: push strength for entities, whether a fluid can be swum in, bottled, or sailed on, and whether it cancels fall damage. A burning fluid can set players on fire, and a potion-mixing event lets other mods create custom potion combinations.
FluidLib requires Fabric API. Its build file has a dependencies block, and it is published for Fabric only, covering game versions 1.21.1, 1.21.11, 26.1, 26.1.1 and 26.1.2. Installation covers the server and each player's game. The code is released under the MIT License and is open source, and the source code and issue tracker are public.
Key features
Custom fluid logic
A single place defines the logic of a custom fluid, so behavior is not spread across several classes.
Tag-driven behaviors
Fluid tags set push strength, swimming, bottling, boating and fall damage immunity without extra code.
Burning fluids
A fluid can be marked as burning, which sets the player on fire when they enter it.
Custom potion mixes
An event lets a mod register new potion mixes that depend on fluids.
Compatibility
Latest build for each game version and loader.
Only full game releases are shown. This mod publishes no snapshot builds.
Requirements
Dependencies declared by the latest file for each loader.

Use cases
Mod authors adding fluids
Authors who add a new liquid can reuse the base fluid class and attach behavior through tags instead of writing it from scratch.
Modpacks with fluid content
A modpack that includes several fluid mods can rely on one shared library for their common behavior.
Who it’s for: Mod developers who want to add custom fluids to Fabric, and modpack builders who ship fluid-based content.
How it compares
Flyd is a Fabric mod for 1.21.1 that is client and server and open source under the MIT License. Liquid Lab is also a Fabric mod for 1.21.1, client and server, under the MIT License. FluidLib targets a wider range of game versions, reaching 26.1.2, so it covers builds that these two do not. Potentials runs on Fabric and NeoForge for 1.21 – 26.3 and is also open source under the MIT License.
