Player Events Remastered
by 6789012
Player Events Remastered sends custom chat messages, commands, items and sounds when players die, join, leave, earn advancements or receive other events on a server.
What it does
Each event is defined in a JSON file, under an actions array, that states what gets sent and which commands run. A message can be sent to the player alone or broadcast to everyone, and an optional audio playback can accompany it. When several messages are defined for one event, the mod can pick one at random. Vanilla death and join or leave messages can be removed so that only the custom text appears. Changes take effect after the reload command, which reloads the mod config without a restart.
Placeholders called tokens are replaced with details about the player who triggers an event, such as their name, UUID, coordinates and display name. Most tokens are reached through a property path like player.name, and the list of available properties is part of the mod documentation. Entity tokens cover team, display name and entity name. The advancement event returns a clickable achievement name. Messages can use a simple text format for colors, and links in messages are detected automatically, though link detection only works when a single color is applied at the start of the message. Fabric API and LuckPerms are required dependencies.
Key features
Custom event messages
Messages, commands, item gives and sounds can be attached to death, join, leave, advancement and other player events.

Default death and entry or exit messages from the game can be suppressed, so only the defined text is shown.
Random message selection
One event can hold several messages, and the mod picks one of them at random when the random option is set to true.
Token replacement
Tokens such as player name, UUID and coordinates are replaced with live values when an event fires.

How it compares
Spawn After Achievement is also server-side only and open source under the MIT License, built for 1.20.1, so it covers a similar achievement-driven message case. ServerMessageSniper is client-side only, open source under the CC0 1.0 Universal license, and built for 1.20.4, so it runs on players' clients rather than on the server. Join Message is server-side only and not open source, using the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license, with builds for 1.20.1 – 1.20.6.

What the author says
On the JSON file you can declare, under the actions array on each object, what is going to be sent and/or executed on that event. You can also set these messages to be sent only to the player by setting broadcast_to_everyone to false (if you have audio playback set up, then it will only be played to the player), but…
