Pickarang
by nicomods
Pickarang gives players a diamond-tier throwing tool on Fabric and NeoForge that mines the block it strikes, collects nearby drops and returns to the slot it was thrown from.
What it does
Right-clicking throws the tool forward. It breaks the first block it strikes, gathers dropped items and XP orbs within reach along its path, then flies back and lands in the slot it came from. Returned items go straight into the inventory, and the throw can be repeated without any extra steps. It is a standalone port of the Pickarang feature from Vazkii's Quark mod, with the original concept design credited to Vazkii and Violet Moon.
The tool is diamond-tier, with 800 durability and 3 attack damage, and it works as a melee weapon as well. It is an equipment and utility addition for players who want less walking between blocks. Servers that run it need every player to install it too. Files are published for Fabric and NeoForge, with builds for 1.21.8 and 26.1.2, released under CC-BY-NC-SA-3.0 and not open source.

Use cases
Mining with fewer steps
A single throw can clear a block at range and gather what drops around it, which cuts down on walking back and forth in a quarry.
Who it’s for: Players on Fabric or NeoForge who want a ranged mining tool, and server owners who want to offer it to every player on a multiplayer server.
How it compares

What the author says
The Pickarang is a diamond-tier tool that combines a pickaxe with a boomerang. Right-click to throw it — it flies forward, breaks the first block it hits, picks up all nearby items, and returns everything straight to your inventory. No more walking to every block you mine. Just throw, catch, repeat.
