PEMusix lets players play music on a Fabric server by pressing keyboard keys, MIDI keyboards or pads that click the matching slot in PlanetEarth's chest-based instrument GUI.
What it does
The mod is a client-side Fabric mod for PlanetEarth's chest-GUI instruments. Pressing a key clicks the corresponding slot in the chest, and the server plugin plays the note. Slots are aligned automatically: when a chest is opened, the mod matches item names to find the actual layout, and falls back to index matching when names are not enough. Blocked slots, including navigation slots 6, 19, 45 and 53, are never mapped.
The common preset covers 49 notes from F 2 to F 6 for melodic instruments, arranged in 4 rows of 12 notes. The drum preset covers 12 notes for bass, hi-hat, snare and cymbal, with low, mid and high chests. Two presets are selected automatically from the chest title. Holding Space with a key plays the sharps and flats, while plain keys play natural notes.
MIDI input is supported from version 4.0.0, so a USB MIDI keyboard or pad can play the notes directly. The mod runs on the client alone, so servers need nothing installed. It is published for Fabric only, across 23 release versions 1.20 – 26.2, and the code is under the Creative Commons Attribution Non Commercial Share Alike 4.0 license, which is not open source.

Keys on the computer keyboard click the matching slots, so notes sound in the chest instruments without manual clicking.
Automatic slot mapping
The slot layout of each opened chest is detected, and blocked navigation slots are excluded from playing.
Separate drum and melodic presets
Drum chests and melodic chests each get their own preset, selected from the chest title.
Statistics screen
A live line chart shows notes per minute over the last 60 minutes, with the top five most-played notes and a session timer.
