Paint Gun Mod

The paint gun is the mod's main item. It fires repulsion gel on left-click and propulsion gel on right-click, and a wrench from the Portal Mod, placed beside the gun in a crafting grid, toggles the ability between the two. Repulsion gel balls travel like snowballs, but on impact they stain the surface they hit with gel. By default a hit covers a shape of about five blocks. The gun itself is crafted from a central crafting table recipe, and the mod also adds three new items built on the Portal Mod.

The shape of the stain can be changed with the gelBallPaintedArea gamerule. A value of 1 turns it into a nine-block square, and any other value gives a plus-like form. Gel balls can also be shot by dispensers, and they are created by combining a gel container from the Portal Mod with a snowball. The doEraseGelBallsByFizzlers gamerule controls whether gel balls erase fizzlers; it is off by default and turns that behavior on when set to true.

Paint Gun Mod requires PortalMod. It runs on client and server, so both the server and every player need it, and it is released under the Creative Commons Attribution Non Commercial Share Alike 4.0 license. It is not open source. The mod is published only for Forge, for 1.16.5, with version 1.1 as the latest file from 2026-05-17.
