Packages
by quat
Packages adds a portable storage item that holds eight stacks of one item, and it can be filled with a single click while Ctrl is held.
What it does
Packages adds a storage item that can be crafted from a solid block. A package holds eight stacks of one item, and the amount can be changed in the config. Items go in and out by clicking the front face, and the package can be used like a bundle. A package that is emptied stays locked to its last contents, so it does not forget what it held.
Packages nest inside one another, even when the outer package holds the same contents. Other sizes behave like cheap shulker boxes, and measuring with a comparator, crushing with a piston or dispensing with a dispenser also work. Package Crafter is a model from Kat, and the idea was credited to unascribed.
The mod needs Modder Name Lib on every loader. It is published for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt across nine release versions, 1.16.4 – 1.21.1, and it is released under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only, so it is open source. Client and server both need it. Fabric 1.20.1 players who use Sodium also need Indium, or the models look wrong.
Key features
Craftable packages
A package is crafted from a solid block, then filled by clicking the front face or by holding Ctrl.
Storage upgrades
Other package sizes can be configured and act like cheap shulker boxes for stacking items.
Bundle-style interaction
Packages can be used and filled like a bundle, including with an empty hand.
Sticky contents
A package that is emptied keeps its last item, so it stays bound to the same contents.
