Crowmap keeps maps up to date while they sit in an inventory, so a player no longer has to hold one in hand to see changes.

What it does

Crowmap makes a map update while it is anywhere in the inventory, not only when held. That leaves the hands free for weapons, food and blocks. A small tooltip shows that the mod is present, and it disappears after the player has looked at it once. The server needs the mod, while clients may leave it out. The mod requires Modder Name Lib, and Fabric API does not work with Sinytra Connector for it. Builds cover 1.16.2 – 26.1.2 across Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only, and the code is open source.
