Players can tie a vanilla lead to any entity with this Fabric mod, and that covers modded mobs and custom creatures too.
What it does
Players can right-click an entity while holding a lead to tether it, and the connection follows Minecraft's normal leash rules: leads can be tied, broken and dropped, and they work in singleplayer and on servers. Only the server needs the mod, so players join without installing anything. The mod is published for Fabric 1.21.1 – 1.21.11 under the MIT License and is not open source.
