Origins: Sun Keeper
by Ten_Mic_10
Sun Keeper, a Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt addon for Origins, gives players custom powers that are earned through challenges and handled with arrows, seals and hand-based abilities.
What it does
Sun Keeper adds a set of powers that a player gains by completing different challenges, after which each power is stored as a seal the player can use. Most powers are tied to the bow, where each arrow type behaves in its own way: an explosive arrow destroys blocks in a small area, a power arrow deals extra damage, a hooking arrow pulls the player toward the point of impact, and dragging the bow backward slightly increases the arrow's speed. Some abilities cost a stack of an active power, which then regenerates slowly over time.
The mod requires Origins to run, because its powers and origin choices are built on the Origins system. Players can pick a different character origin and see how the same world plays out with those powers. Sun Keeper runs on Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, and is also available as a data pack. The server must run it, while players may leave it out, and the code is released under the MIT License without being open source. Files exist for 1.20 and 1.20.1, and the latest build targets 1.20.1.
Key features
Challenge-based rewards
Each Power Hand Seal is earned by completing a specific challenge, so progress through the mod is tied to play.
Arrow powers
Explosive, power and hooking arrows each change how a shot lands, from area block damage to pulling the player toward a target.
Skeleton boss encounter
Defeating a skeleton boss grants a random skeleton that can spawn the boss again, and creeper head rewards are granted once.
Stacking powers
Some abilities consume one stack of an active power, which regenerates slowly so the ability can be used again later.

How it compares
Trash Origins is an MIT-licensed, open source Forge and NeoForge addon for 1.20.1 that runs on client and server, so both sides need it. No Base Origins is an Apache-licensed server-side option for 1.16.5 – 1.20.4 on four loaders, and only the server needs it. JDi Origins is open source under the MIT License, supports Fabric and Forge for 1.20 – 1.20.1, and needs both client and server.
