Origins: Kitsune gives a player the fox-spirit origin from the Origins framework, with faster movement, quieter steps and berry-based food bonuses.
What it does
The origin is a character choice inside Origins, so Origins must be installed first. Once a player picks the origin, the abilities listed below apply. Players who want the Origins framework without this origin can leave the mod out. Origins: Kitsune is published for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, with the latest file 1.5+mod for 1.21.1, dated 2025-07-28.
The origin takes the spirit theme from its description: the player is one of the ancient fox spirits, respected and feared. The effects are tied to movement and food rather than to items or blocks, so the mod adds no new recipes or structures. Files cover game versions 1.18 – 1.21.1 across fifteen releases, and the mod is released under the MIT License and is not open source.
Environment: the server needs the mod, while a client may skip it. The author notes that the origin is coded for the newest version of Origins, so older versions and the Forge build may show unexpected bugs.
