Multiplayer Isolation
by Virusnest
Multiplayer Isolation hides other online players' names, chat and messages from each other on a Fabric server, while player entities stay visible.
What it does
Server owners install the mod on the server only, and players join without installing anything. It hides information about other online players except in-game entities: player names in chat, death messages, join and leave messages, the player list and chat autocomplete. Player chat messages are hidden as well, including commands such as msg, and the mod also stops players from brute-forcing names through msg or tell. Player entities remain visible in the world.
Skins are only shown to players who have the mod installed on their client, because of how Minecraft is written, so the skin feature depends on the client side. Simple Voice Chat and Localized Chat work alongside the mod, but chat messages must be enabled in its config for that combination to work. Voice chat mods do not hide names, and a separate voice chat UI solution is used for that. The mod requires Fabric API and is released under the MIT License as open source. Files are published for Fabric for 1.21.1 and 1.21.5, and the latest build is 2.2+1.21.5 for 1.21.5, published 2025-06-21.
Key features
Hidden player names
Other players' names are kept out of chat, death and join messages, the player list and autocomplete.
Hidden chat and commands
Player chat, including commands such as msg, is hidden from other players on the server.
Protection from name guessing
Players cannot find out names by brute-forcing msg or tell, which closes that route to identifying others.
Visible player entities
Player entities stay visible in the world, so the mod hides information rather than the players themselves.

Use cases
Who it’s for: Server owners who want to limit how much players can learn about each other from chat, the player list and private messages.
How it compares
Hide Player List is a client and server mod for Fabric 1.21.10 under All rights reserved, not open source. aPrivateMessages is server-side only for Fabric 1.21.4, under All rights reserved and not open source, so it covers private messages rather than the full set of hidden information here. Better No Chat is a client-side only Fabric mod for 1.21.11 under All rights reserved and not open source.
