Multiplayer Fix

by USeAr3658

Multiplayer Fix restores the Multiplayer button on the title screen for players whose game shows Multiplayer disabled after a Microsoft account problem.

FabricForgeClient-side onlyMIT License1.16.4 – 1.16.5

What it does

When a Microsoft account setting blocks the Multiplayer menu, the game can display a message saying Multiplayer is disabled, and the button stays unusable. The mod provides a working way to reach the Multiplayer screen in that situation, so a player can join servers again without moving or reinstalling anything. The mod is a lightweight client-side change for Minecraft 1.16.5 and runs only on the client.

Only the client needs the mod: the server and other players are not affected, and the mod does not change gameplay or alter how servers behave. Files are published for Fabric and Forge for the 1.16.4 – 1.16.5 range, and the mod is released under the MIT License, though it is not open source.

Key features

  1. Working Multiplayer access

Gives a functioning route to the Multiplayer screen when the default button is blocked.

  2. Microsoft account workaround

Targets the case where account settings, not the game itself, disable multiplayer for the player.

  3. No gameplay changes

The mod leaves gameplay untouched and does not alter what happens on servers.

  4. Lightweight install

A small client-side file that is placed in the mods folder and needs no server counterpart.

How it compares

Full comparison

EnableMultiPlayerMode is a Fabric and Forge client-side mod for 1.16.4 – 1.16.5 released under CC0 1.0 Universal, so it is open source and carries no restriction. Account Switcher is a client-side mod for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge covering 1.8.9 – 26.1.2, released under the MIT License and not open source, and it switches accounts rather than restoring the Multiplayer menu.

Questions

Does Multiplayer Fix need to be installed on the server?

No. It is installed on the player's side alone, so servers need nothing.

Files are published for Fabric and Forge. The latest Fabric file is 1.1 for 1.16.5, and the latest Forge file is also 1.1 for 1.16.5.

Does Multiplayer Fix change how the game plays?

No. The mod does not change gameplay and does not affect servers, so it only restores access to the Multiplayer screen.
